Outdoor Living – What are My Options for Shade?

Especially in Escondido, or pretty much anywhere in sunny San Diego and Temecula, outdoor living is a way of life. Enjoying the fresh air, the warmth and of course the rays of sunshine, sometimes you never want to go inside. But what about when those lovely rays become a little too much, and all you want is a nice patch of shade under which you can escape for a bit.

There are a ton of options for adding shade to your outdoor space. From basic umbrellas to roofs constructed of special timber, when it comes to shade options you can get as basic or as elaborate as you want.

 

Plant Some Trees: Nature’s built in shade option…Of course, depending on the size of the tree to start, you may not get to enjoy that shade until well into your seventies or eighties. But at least you can experience the pride and nostalgia that comes with watching it grow!

Awnings: Retractable awnings have made a big comeback in recent years. Now with new modern designs, patterns, textures and colors, they really can add an attractive and shade providing option to your patio or deck.
